這句"how has she died for us, let me count the ways"，小小的借用點竄了英國浪漫時期詩人Elizabeth Barrett Browning的原作。這首十四行詩是她的知名代表作品之一，出自詩集《Sonnets from the Portuguese》。原作沒有標題，是該詩集的第四十三號作品。原文以下：

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.

第八季的CSI：Las Vegas或許是為了刺激收視率，每集的案子愈來愈特異，也玩弄更多花招翻譯

原本十九世紀的情詩到了CSI，搖身一變，成了製作人嘴裡用來講明當家花旦的在戲裡分歧死法的開場白。不外，替片子公司賺進大把鈔票的女演員可是製作人眼前的大紅人，如許的搖錢樹固然是製作人的親愛寶貝。編劇借用了詩人的情話，玩了文字趣味，也藉此顯示失蹤的旦角在製作人心中的地位。

Elizabeth Barrett Browning寫出這首詩時正是遭到Robert Browning的強烈熱鬧追求（兩人的戀愛故事一直是文壇美談），在詩裡Elizabeth Barrett Browning描述她是若何深戀愛人、具體描述她的竭誠情感。此詩的第一行"How do I love thee? Let me count the ways"（我若何愛汝？且讓我娓娓細數道來）相當有名，也常被普遍改寫運用。
